Job description

What You Will Do

As the Engineering Team Leader for Industrial Refrigeration in the Nordic region, you will lead a skilled team of engineers, primarily based in Hornslet, Denmark.

Your team will be responsible for finalizing the electrical, controls (PLC and SCADA programming), and mechanical (P&ID and 2D/3D drawings) design of turnkey refrigeration systems for projects handed over by the sales engineering team.

You will work closely with the execution team to ensure successful project delivery.

This is a pivotal leadership role where you will drive technical excellence, team development, and operational efficiency, contributing directly to the success of our industrial refrigeration and heat pump business.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of design engineers.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
  • Plan and manage team resources to meet productivity and project delivery targets.
  • Engineering Oversight

  • Oversee the execution of key engineering tasks, including:Electrical cabinet specificationsControl philosophy narrativesPLC & SCADA programming and commissioningP&ID drawingsValve and instrument lists2D/3D layout drawingsPiping isometric drawingsRFPs for main equipment
  • Provide technical support to the sales engineering team as needed.
  • Project & Operational Management

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operations and effective communication within the team.
  • Monitor project progress, risks, and deliverables to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the sales engineering team to ensure seamless project handovers and accurate cost estimations.
  • Align engineering activities with operational and financial objectives.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Drive standardization of tools, processes, and documentation to improve efficiency.
  • Promote innovation and best practices across the engineering function.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with project execution and product management teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Support procurement and operations in achieving cost certainty and profitability.
  • Required

    What We Look For:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in team leadership and people management.
  • Extensive experience in electrical and controls design and/or extensive experience in industrial refrigeration systems design.
  • Fluency in English and Danish.
  • Preferred

  • Background in field-based operations and commissioning.
